Modern Insurance magazine meets MLA!

If you’re a reader of Modern Insurance magazine make sure you check out this month’s 32 page magazine supplement dedicated to handl Group and all of the brands in its portfolio, including MLA.

The supplement features a double-page interview with our very own Mr MLA, Mike Shallcross, Head of Operations, who chats candidly about MLA’s future growth plans, why the team at MLA is so special and highly regarded and how MLA operates to all the Tier 1 MedCo agency requirements, despite currently being categorised as a Tier 2.

Mike Shallcross has been part of MLA’s journey since 2006, becoming Head of Operations in 2009. Mike has witnessed and played a phenomenal part in MLA becoming the longest established MRO on MedCo and being renowned for exceptional service delivery.

Mike outlines MLA’s number one objective, which is to become a Tier 1 MedCo agency. “In order to aspire to be Tier 1, we have to comply with Part 2 of the Qualifying Criteria and meet all of the extra metrics. The team at MLA has optimised our processes so that we are not just meeting those Tier 1 requirements, but actually exceeding them,” he explains, proudly. “We are already operating at the standard of a Tier 1 so it is on the horizon, we just need to keep working hard and hitting our targets.”

Whilst MLA’s rich heritage is in RTA, it is perhaps best known for being the undisputed leader of the industry specialising in Industrial Disease (ID) Claims and Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL).
“We want to continue to be the market leaders in Industrial Disease for many years to come and be the ID arm of the handl Group,” Mike offers.

Anyone who knows Mike will be aware of how incredibly passionate he is about his team at MLA and this jumps off the page in his interview, exclaiming “our staff are our greatest strength. I can’t praise them enough because every challenge or opportunity we put in front of them, they revel in it and deliver.”

It’s no surprise that MLA retains its staff and is well-known for building lasting relationships with attrition so low. This encourages continuity of service, the building of interpersonal relationships with customers and trust which drives the loyalty that customers have to the brand after experiencing ‘The MLA Way’.

Mike finishes his interview with this. “We approach every task with our company values in mind – Make it happen, Lead with service and Always deliver!”
