The Company: MLA provide a range of medico-legal services to the legal and insurance sectors. We are a leading specialist in the provision of Industrial Disease Medical Reporting, RICS reporting for Housing condition claims and a Tier 1 MedCo-accredited MRO. We've been providing medical report services for over 30 years. Through our nationwide network of specialist experts and our highly-skilled in-house team, we’re able to facilitate a vast range of medical reports to support MedCo, Industrial Disease, Military Accidents, NIHL and Housing Disrepair cases.

The role:

 

To manage and maintain the organisations technological infrastructure. To manage external IT providers and also lead the businesses continuing compliance to key standards (ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, etc).

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Account manage third party IT provider partners
    • Managing outstanding tickets/issues from inception through to resolution
    • Monitoring and reporting of SLA performance
    • Communication with stake holders within the business
    • Identify, communicate and resolve instances of poor performance from providers
    • Regular review meetings
    • Manage contract SLA and uphold providers to the highest standard
  • Manage compliance of businesses externally validated standards (ISO 9001, 27001, Cyber essential plus), Including
    • Regular internal reviews and audits
    • Risk assessments
    • Preparing and leading internal audits as required
    • Preparing and leading external audits as required
    • Record keeping to ensure evidence is available for audit against standards
  • Project management of ad hoc business projects involving IT providers
    • Ensure we are getting the best value from our suppliers
    • Scoping projects and producing business case
    • Working with providers to ensure live projects are progressing
    • Providing regular updates to the business on projects
    • To be MLA’s designated contact for IT providers on projects
  • Manage and maintain the organisations risk and disaster recovery and business continuity. maintaining the BCP, updating the risk register, conducting annual DR tests
  • Manage and maintain the organisations asset register
  • Be able to challenge suppliers on a technical level
  • Be the designated point of contact for MLA for IT issues with all our suppliers and to co-ordinate responses to the business
  • To administer change management to all MLA systems
  • Working closely with third parties to ensure MLA are equipped with the best tech and upgrades
  • To remain up to date with changes in requirements for MLA’s externally validated standards

 

Key Traits of Potential Candidate:

 

  • Prior experience compliance, service delivery or IT management role, ideally within legal or insurance sector
  • Technical background
  • Successful and proven track record project management and project delivery
  • Proactive approach to tasks, with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets
  • Self-motivation with strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and a desire to succeed
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills with a proven track record in delivering commercial performance.
  • Team player with an impeccable attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent presentation, oral and written business presentation and communication skills with various levels of audience
